Case Study: Custom Cabin Build in Radium Hot Springs

Client Profile

The project was initiated by a nurse in management from Calgary who wanted to build her ideal cabin getaway.

Project Location

Radium Hot Springs is a beautiful location known for its naturally heated mineral water pools and stunning landscapes. The quarter-acre level, well-treed lot in Radium Hot Springs was the perfect site for the project.

Timeframe

The project lasted 8 months from inception to completion, culminating in the realization of the client’s perfect getaway cabin in Radium Hot Springs.

Project Overview

After collaborating with Winton Homes to finalize the design, the client engaged AXM for the construction. The work began in September with excavation, and the installation of the foundation, followed by the arrival of the package from Prince George. With framing starting immediately upon its arrival, the exterior finish was completed before winter, allowing for indoor mechanical rough-in. The interior finishing work followed, and by spring, the cabin was ready for the client to move in.

Services Provided by AXM

AXM provided comprehensive administrative support throughout the project. We took care of acquiring building permits, obtaining a course of construction insurance, handling legal work, estimating, and more. The construction progressed smoothly under a fixed-price contract, with AXM overseeing the entire process of transforming a treed lot into a finished home.

A Well-Managed Project Makes a World of Difference

Throughout the duration of the project, despite its multifaceted complexity, no significant challenges arose. The seamless construction journey was made possible by the collective efforts of all parties involved. The project was executed with remarkable precision, and each step of the process was meticulously planned and executed. As a result, the client was able to witness the project come to fruition without any major setbacks or delays.
